We have built an octagonal Kindergarten structure which I have helped to finish by installing two solar-powered fans in the roof to keep it cool, making wooden play blocks and a special cabinet for watercolor paintings to dry. Right now we have five teachers and 38 children but more parents are applying so hopefully soon we will have more students.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjpd_JeNCrzTGp2OpfYN07_bDzwEFp4Y4wwjJ6rMLXYwHlENGUuPlojv8t1p20GklH1tLEDzpEO0rEkkpgosrYPeU-7ktnREwzb8rsq-tl5BpGKiFftP-v5TBNg2DtBApG5-Lv78UbqtTlfAaku8jXLKTY9EAMExRxVOmAMfwt8nfksnQA3iG56AaTr=s1040" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1040" data-original-width="780" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjpd_JeNCrzTGp2OpfYN07_bDzwEFp4Y4wwjJ6rMLXYwHlENGUuPlojv8t1p20GklH1tLEDzpEO0rEkkpgosrYPeU-7ktnREwzb8rsq-tl5BpGKiFftP-v5TBNg2DtBApG5-Lv78UbqtTlfAaku8jXLKTY9EAMExRxVOmAMfwt8nfksnQA3iG56AaTr=w480-h640" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhA-pOCVs99o6iYdBq47jxYYjq6jycGX8qV4vHc9tzDd4xDT72vYjceADC6cIEI05lE4ortJIM0ykxh7Yx_YAm4H_wbdtI24fYJp9fEE53bKxSja_YZmoBSAR4n7EwzocXt-QNFu3W6DPrIQY7J7ZUEfbWcY_8txLpH2RvdwguGO8_NIBRuGSEHXL8_=s1600" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhA-pOCVs99o6iYdBq47jxYYjq6jycGX8qV4vHc9tzDd4xDT72vYjceADC6cIEI05lE4ortJIM0ykxh7Yx_YAm4H_wbdtI24fYJp9fEE53bKxSja_YZmoBSAR4n7EwzocXt-QNFu3W6DPrIQY7J7ZUEfbWcY_8txLpH2RvdwguGO8_NIBRuGSEHXL8_=w400-h300" width="400" /></a></div><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi_-dH1VOKLt7p7He_2obSq-1m6ZD5eXPA5v16hXWrm_YinW8MdxKLxYyVCdzwuVUabU9SJVpRmno8Zblb6Wa9bmLXGCSZ897xaM0420c2yjWxAsILcjp7Ur3PeX9SShXMtfXJdsjwDihCBr0eD9usmhtd4NEc-NQXbp4Q5zNxMeNZMwZxJqRIL7lFF=s1600" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi_-dH1VOKLt7p7He_2obSq-1m6ZD5eXPA5v16hXWrm_YinW8MdxKLxYyVCdzwuVUabU9SJVpRmno8Zblb6Wa9bmLXGCSZ897xaM0420c2yjWxAsILcjp7Ur3PeX9SShXMtfXJdsjwDihCBr0eD9usmhtd4NEc-NQXbp4Q5zNxMeNZMwZxJqRIL7lFF=s320" width="320" /></a><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEipQEdH8hcEyj1BMkTOIKki0968pQ2AmTHQdQWdCmnUpYjXmUaDgs-VUBL4CSTbMqNhja0XjLOTRQaEQ7mx4e1Lixc3aw_2Oct_s8A6tDJ0lX9HsrTLW63p96PIOR41VElkbGPpjmB0Ngt3bfuAdzNjBb4BW13j5dFNnVtNsyHeKOxua8d6KI00AkEj=s1560" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1560" data-original-width="720" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEipQEdH8hcEyj1BMkTOIKki0968pQ2AmTHQdQWdCmnUpYjXmUaDgs-VUBL4CSTbMqNhja0XjLOTRQaEQ7mx4e1Lixc3aw_2Oct_s8A6tDJ0lX9HsrTLW63p96PIOR41VElkbGPpjmB0Ngt3bfuAdzNjBb4BW13j5dFNnVtNsyHeKOxua8d6KI00AkEj=w296-h640" width="296" /></a></div><br /></div><br /><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span><p></p>Peru Callinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16122068689235841414noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5363760672186453746.post-85847771333587463152022-02-20T09:32:00.002-08:002022-02-20T09:32:54.706-08:00We finish our southern hemisphere summer program<p> In the past we have had up to 100 children for our 'summer camp' but this year, due to Covid restrictions we were only able to accept 25 children and youth. I taught English to two teenagers who thnkfully were keen to learn. We also advanced in table-tennis skills.</p><p>Lourdes and one helper had the younger children learning english songs, doing arts and crafts as well as academic subjects. We finished our 8-week program with a celebration in which each child received gifts and good things to eat and drink.</p><p>Our regular program will resume in March.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEigQxADVx5CUvlJ5vsh7n6knOsr5itzood7E4jPq_YGxzOLcZPYU3qQXIHUTxVRvW5t6Vy5lRqcmVQd2_UpnhraaEP6yZI8ahvuXCNSQRqZ_ybS5A5qKKHyWFZQRCK--3IcrqzDthdcgAAcZSIQF3TOZ_BlaVwh7-Fmp-MUZwZsO_GnWahv3awqByfA=s640" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEigQxADVx5CUvlJ5vsh7n6knOsr5itzood7E4jPq_YGxzOLcZPYU3qQXIHUTxVRvW5t6Vy5lRqcmVQd2_UpnhraaEP6yZI8ahvuXCNSQRqZ_ybS5A5qKKHyWFZQRCK--3IcrqzDthdcgAAcZSIQF3TOZ_BlaVwh7-Fmp-MUZwZsO_GnWahv3awqByfA=w640-h360" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiKoOxVi6nRnowzQENyF89CfakHFQbQSxdBV4qUlIU4_4SGwGJg5SaOhC0V1LOS77YgtndSMwe9OHKFaAizfkB_bMENw1sryAXrhtdELT20eAsdTg3pBTLGXrFM2GVxJ_1InkS-WAHkRoi-Ma799B2Xy4GZxOv4Trpi-7JgxDyVKRyVm3B1GfIEqj8B=s640" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiKoOxVi6nRnowzQENyF89CfakHFQbQSxdBV4qUlIU4_4SGwGJg5SaOhC0V1LOS77YgtndSMwe9OHKFaAizfkB_bMENw1sryAXrhtdELT20eAsdTg3pBTLGXrFM2GVxJ_1InkS-WAHkRoi-Ma799B2Xy4GZxOv4Trpi-7JgxDyVKRyVm3B1GfIEqj8B=w640-h360" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Peru Callinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16122068689235841414noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5363760672186453746.post-50807681008553213152022-02-20T09:06:00.005-08:002022-02-20T09:17:11.543-08:00Classroom furniture<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhwjetDDSj1nfGi73fNbqgOsMLTYNuOWOFudTc61RCV1RcH-L0606Q1GcRWC1U6PYlE9lAXuwrX7Okfc2Qh3UW5TvI33Qdbg_TUMCfU3UDZdTfmU6a8ICFZ765ObxntTbOYa4ikfuFj6FgW8YKtGhSWpJ3rFZSAYx2WJPbbCE34gmJnleygo86vzvY2=s640" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="360" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhwjetDDSj1nfGi73fNbqgOsMLTYNuOWOFudTc61RCV1RcH-L0606Q1GcRWC1U6PYlE9lAXuwrX7Okfc2Qh3UW5TvI33Qdbg_TUMCfU3UDZdTfmU6a8ICFZ765ObxntTbOYa4ikfuFj6FgW8YKtGhSWpJ3rFZSAYx2WJPbbCE34gmJnleygo86vzvY2=w360-h640" width="360" /></a></div>One way of looking at Waldorf education is to consider the right and left hemispheres of the brain in the developing child. Arts and crafts are right brain activities which tend to to balance the tendency to over-emphasize academic left brain learning in modern education. Since the beginnings of Waldorf education over a century ago, grade school age children have been doing water color painting with high quality plant-based paints. To let the paintings dry on their individual wooden boards a special cabinet with a drawer above for paper, brushes and paint has been designed and a variation of this classroom furniture is to be found in most of the 1000 plus Waldorf schools throughout the world.<p></p><p>I just completed this one for the Khuyay ('love' in the Quechua language) Waldorf School in the city of Tarapoto, Peru which is just now finishing a new kindergarten structure set in lush tropical grounds.</p><p>I dyed the wood with diluted Stockmar paint and finished up with 3 coats of water-base varnish.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh2PkORbWf7IBWo2nKPDSe48hDINzBoWNr8ZC9DXHCv0ouXrKdufSEWz-9UUiGrESJ0TTMfU3-vN3Kb71Ip0Dd6pLcuV03C-1l-p5VX3H8_XXhKJHSvKT0BTlkZuIPbjvqagsLhd4M6dOThS5h2rhF_SenMLx_lC4LMvP-_kXxKBPfTh_naO1glZctu=s640" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="360" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh2PkORbWf7IBWo2nKPDSe48hDINzBoWNr8ZC9DXHCv0ouXrKdufSEWz-9UUiGrESJ0TTMfU3-vN3Kb71Ip0Dd6pLcuV03C-1l-p5VX3H8_XXhKJHSvKT0BTlkZuIPbjvqagsLhd4M6dOThS5h2rhF_SenMLx_lC4LMvP-_kXxKBPfTh_naO1glZctu=w225-h400" width="225" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Peru Callinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16122068689235841414noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5363760672186453746.post-2718951849996510502022-01-09T11:12:00.007-08:002022-02-20T08:48:28.596-08:00Jungle Ping-Pong<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgXmVo1VPolzRiCfNfFYTYr1Hr-IibUK7OpbEr3ovuDoEjO_hMMfKtszHcEAaWIn35ChvDTp_O3Q5KJnFh_8oihFiXPi-5vPXhaTAH7wM3MyQt0VZI8DGnDF0O-q0i0gZl-BNtdj7DPOwjaJnvtCTHqV28gdOhmK-K--EmJmmQyLvgnlcTArJ7JROyq=s4000" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3000" data-original-width="4000" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgXmVo1VPolzRiCfNfFYTYr1Hr-IibUK7OpbEr3ovuDoEjO_hMMfKtszHcEAaWIn35ChvDTp_O3Q5KJnFh_8oihFiXPi-5vPXhaTAH7wM3MyQt0VZI8DGnDF0O-q0i0gZl-BNtdj7DPOwjaJnvtCTHqV28gdOhmK-K--EmJmmQyLvgnlcTArJ7JROyq=w640-h480" width="640" /></a></div>PHOTO: ZAIR SILVA<br /> <p></p><p>I just put together this ping-pong table made from 3 sheets of 3/4 inch (18mm) plywood at the back of our Sauce headquarters of Estrella de Sauce, a Waldorf education community outreach program. This was where we lived back in 2006 when we first met and married. In the photo above taken on our second day I am chewing coca leaves to counteract the strange effects of altitude which in Cusco is over 11,000 ft.</p><p> It was wonderful and slightly surreal to be back there after so many years. There has been much building of houses and businesses and the children of Lourdes' Waldorf education class are now young adults. Here's Tika who I remember as a 7-year old and is now studying chemistry at the university. She is soon to fly to the US for further studies.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhps5Y77fU2BqSvPYbsRx6_iulyyVpxM8OGH7Hn3VORjLQpK5Ni3uVE9CaWod9PoyVPV1IaFXwHQsAqRixChH_JNagSvmYITzN7KgHtU9d0DlCHcnR8oaT8ua9qVMSBqPfwFhFCslfyfr0/s640/Cusco+and+Sacred+Valley+2021+005.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; To fix the problem I decided to re-roof with extra-heavy steel roofing and put up a mesh barrier to hopefully prevent some of the low-flying shots coming onto the roof.</p><p>Here's me in roofing mode which I am doing every fine afternoon when the heat is lessening. Little by little the job is getting done.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp_3WGgWb4bGQWeyYB7YJJ82qgJsWFZ5tMDZXtCf8_EvycGGSYNBQwZTvfstgaoaq6qEJedterTKoEUl0OVyKrvj_zPzWHd-hNRGvVA5dc5Daojbdkzd93mmUIQNNO8QnBunm18TIeF1I/s1599/IMG-20210607-WA0068.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1599" data-original-width="899" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp_3WGgWb4bGQWeyYB7YJJ82qgJsWFZ5tMDZXtCf8_EvycGGSYNBQwZTvfstgaoaq6qEJedterTKoEUl0OVyKrvj_zPzWHd-hNRGvVA5dc5Daojbdkzd93mmUIQNNO8QnBunm18TIeF1I/w225-h400/IMG-20210607-WA0068.jpg" width="225" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhdS4dQZAqgbz3TtwWQrVW5BzlDa5IXRKEU2yNq00_vDYrgPcb82Ks8uQM8Dy8NWI5h8-0tDmCuUKtGXwUQoMdMZl2HhbT6GRyqWvy-swxrM-_X6Icw3Sxd_-H4KAt76ahUzx2FgP0PFk/s1599/IMG-20210607-WA0066.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1599" data-original-width="899" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhdS4dQZAqgbz3TtwWQrVW5BzlDa5IXRKEU2yNq00_vDYrgPcb82Ks8uQM8Dy8NWI5h8-0tDmCuUKtGXwUQoMdMZl2HhbT6GRyqWvy-swxrM-_X6Icw3Sxd_-H4KAt76ahUzx2FgP0PFk/w360-h640/IMG-20210607-WA0066.jpg" width="360" /></a></div><div><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4_GqZwmsTzf0lemYwhfOr-OBaxk5KnTNNtXHE74_MNTG4l5ADBBXeQsFIgoBycIlZ-XyK_srlPEEetq4N1JRT4jVLtWV84OqWDCd0raSrN0iH_4MEEIGS08jSjHQ_BqPiIzDfbup9j0E/s1599/IMG-20210607-WA0064+%25281%2529.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1599" data-original-width="899" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4_GqZwmsTzf0lemYwhfOr-OBaxk5KnTNNtXHE74_MNTG4l5ADBBXeQsFIgoBycIlZ-XyK_srlPEEetq4N1JRT4jVLtWV84OqWDCd0raSrN0iH_4MEEIGS08jSjHQ_BqPiIzDfbup9j0E/w225-h400/IMG-20210607-WA0064+%25281%2529.jpg" width="225" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Re-roofing finished</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLbjf8w668KkDQFZ6j7siJSCQYLvFYxWe1yg_tFl-FhMYvl8lismwftybh5CLEGhAZzsAYw0SSlWQbH0TkoY4GQCtWaFLYkhxzgZWOGh-fWuw3-Z81gJjFEZcdYbcSgvtNU5e2F3etCto/s640/Finished+roof+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLbjf8w668KkDQFZ6j7siJSCQYLvFYxWe1yg_tFl-FhMYvl8lismwftybh5CLEGhAZzsAYw0SSlWQbH0TkoY4GQCtWaFLYkhxzgZWOGh-fWuw3-Z81gJjFEZcdYbcSgvtNU5e2F3etCto/w640-h360/Finished+roof+001.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div>Peru Callinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16122068689235841414noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5363760672186453746.post-31763567151569214992021-05-06T17:58:00.002-07:002021-05-06T17:58:37.871-07:00We hosted a pre-Mother's Day lunch for seniors in Sauce<p> Our grandmothers group now stands at 20 members attending every Thursday afternoon for crafts, exercise, chatting and snacks. All were invited to our pre-Mother's Day lunch which we have offered yearly for the past 9 years. However due to fears about Covid, some stayed away so we had only 13 joining us for lunch this year.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiY7ug8roabw3t04IKE3ZpxglxXD-VpsHFuVBjKG021WdR8CTwuQF_-B9eQApqfSXtrwliUywDgsVdLW9N2cYuo8TL1_sajOq_oSum5-ZOc2tjUlb_ACW2wVDQnrj5FeJahAXZbZZmqWE/s1599/IMG-20210506-WA0014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="899" data-original-width="1599" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiY7ug8roabw3t04IKE3ZpxglxXD-VpsHFuVBjKG021WdR8CTwuQF_-B9eQApqfSXtrwliUywDgsVdLW9N2cYuo8TL1_sajOq_oSum5-ZOc2tjUlb_ACW2wVDQnrj5FeJahAXZbZZmqWE/w640-h360/IMG-20210506-WA0014.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Peru Callinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16122068689235841414noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5363760672186453746.post-22931913769851879782021-01-22T06:32:00.013-08:002021-04-03T08:41:50.745-07:00Jungle sailing<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9SPClZf0nMM_dGrotlcmrM3RcMrdlRiwdcSwzaowKNrwaCsmBproYi_nhVQh2cA6JC7aaN2_tipubH_PN4_EpVesx6ARO6WU-rEglw_58r_QxpmBkg8RAlF9_ICp7A1-HT8m9wDfnlgA/s2048/DSCN3337.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9SPClZf0nMM_dGrotlcmrM3RcMrdlRiwdcSwzaowKNrwaCsmBproYi_nhVQh2cA6JC7aaN2_tipubH_PN4_EpVesx6ARO6WU-rEglw_58r_QxpmBkg8RAlF9_ICp7A1-HT8m9wDfnlgA/w640-h480/DSCN3337.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>Eight year old grandson Lucas steers the only large sailboat in the Peruvian Amazon area that was created in 2012 by joining 3 traditional wooden boats to form a trimaran. When the breeze is blowing it moves right along powered by 3 sails. In calm weather we use a low-emission Evinrude 6HP 4-stroke motor. We did provide the service of delivery of essential food supplies during the pandemic to some of the more vulnerable families in our programs. In addition we continued to support the Khuyay Waldorf school in the city of Tarapoto which remained in operation, but only on an online basis.</p><p>The lockdown situation did have some positive aspects: Lourdes had plenty of time to learn Peruvian Sign Language to better communicate with some of our deaf children and adults and I got to mostly finish up our house on which I have been working for almost 10 years. Also it was lovely having our lake very quiet with virtually no boat traffic for all those months.</p><p>We are optimistic that 2021 will be a better year. Instead this year we are delivering gifts to all the children and grandmothers who partipate in our programs. We have permission to hold our summer camp called 'vacacciones utiles' which will start January 11 and our grandmothers group has been given the go-ahead to begin again on Jan 15.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3di-t17wSa8sEkaqOnewQXwWR1ZGrWNv56SXh9Fxc6dYu5bGo8GoZpORH8L8H3hakBQgXQEHdz9cEUjuHGqDQtDEIIal3BABNKd7tAaC6PE52DGmBYxFjS5FUaroIL4Ysg1oWHXcdTHc/s640/Pre+-+Christmas+014.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3di-t17wSa8sEkaqOnewQXwWR1ZGrWNv56SXh9Fxc6dYu5bGo8GoZpORH8L8H3hakBQgXQEHdz9cEUjuHGqDQtDEIIal3BABNKd7tAaC6PE52DGmBYxFjS5FUaroIL4Ysg1oWHXcdTHc/s320/Pre+-+Christmas+014.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg49HjWehTbAofBjav2UcUWAzLQCckAsyr3lQjKokpoV2b4l6CDWma-sDloDoCbUlj9MnCgMMyGp-4ufEfelA3A8yATdHbJgGjTOdpBfokSq6HdSA-g7jSDSIfNCZDQSeNFm12Ee28fKD8/s640/Pre+-+Christmas+005.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg49HjWehTbAofBjav2UcUWAzLQCckAsyr3lQjKokpoV2b4l6CDWma-sDloDoCbUlj9MnCgMMyGp-4ufEfelA3A8yATdHbJgGjTOdpBfokSq6HdSA-g7jSDSIfNCZDQSeNFm12Ee28fKD8/s320/Pre+-+Christmas+005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaaesMSqblJr6UbUMMu2B-f55uin7PHtpVj_SXEmbCbEi-N0pN9T4jvFT-CNDPbaAizC4F-7FRz_mfrIiQSYIji4eGII9s7bC-ZIpoTmrjsQCtaVjNdqk4IiGtgpggQ0LSy1rwhtkxjTY/s2048/IMG-20201221-WA0006.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaaesMSqblJr6UbUMMu2B-f55uin7PHtpVj_SXEmbCbEi-N0pN9T4jvFT-CNDPbaAizC4F-7FRz_mfrIiQSYIji4eGII9s7bC-ZIpoTmrjsQCtaVjNdqk4IiGtgpggQ0LSy1rwhtkxjTY/s320/IMG-20201221-WA0006.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdI_78KKJc77z3DsgVN_YYIFeDJG3XhsaMbGCBNQF6BFvg8YAu3YaK-svFn9P4PgH-fQUzipHToApUSoXZggElE0XdO8NWVcrquJ-4qWYCNULGDkfYxWvFKaJQctJB1Uo1mKfztqqi91k/s640/Pre+-+Christmas+008.JPG" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdI_78KKJc77z3DsgVN_YYIFeDJG3XhsaMbGCBNQF6BFvg8YAu3YaK-svFn9P4PgH-fQUzipHToApUSoXZggElE0XdO8NWVcrquJ-4qWYCNULGDkfYxWvFKaJQctJB1Uo1mKfztqqi91k/s320/Pre+-+Christmas+008.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Peru Callinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16122068689235841414noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5363760672186453746.post-30732009386062011412020-12-21T10:46:00.005-08:002020-12-25T10:16:04.552-08:00Sauce is changing fast<p> Lourdes and I moved to this small lakeside town almost a decade ago and over the years we have seen many changes especially in the hotel construction sector. Now the main drag is getting lots of drain pipes put in in antipation of paving the entire length. It has been a dirt road up until now - muddy during rain and dusty in dry, sunny conditions.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpLdI16SOZcE9BF228doRub23hc-V38PWTZ7ewNZzsZ3IHzRONQRnk6t52AeksuGU5lYKLGbdvgVEQBApXMUy1xDDdvH5JFrZ2kpNJc8elZQoFJpxBTZRbPPM9VCFJK6yERjnj6qhWHq4/s640/Pre+-+Christmas+016.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpLdI16SOZcE9BF228doRub23hc-V38PWTZ7ewNZzsZ3IHzRONQRnk6t52AeksuGU5lYKLGbdvgVEQBApXMUy1xDDdvH5JFrZ2kpNJc8elZQoFJpxBTZRbPPM9VCFJK6yERjnj6qhWHq4/s320/Pre+-+Christmas+016.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVA4-EnDgZSPYbPXcD2bHtvbadkcxbKTJG3NHUvjGPXxGiguuEcU1Qa1mZIVH0rDZBsOB-M39G9HION87SNgsWEyZB84lQmeCj7_x0v51pwuKduMH9LXkLtNMisVm3YsVRNdRpMLbutSE/s640/Pre+-+Christmas+017.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVA4-EnDgZSPYbPXcD2bHtvbadkcxbKTJG3NHUvjGPXxGiguuEcU1Qa1mZIVH0rDZBsOB-M39G9HION87SNgsWEyZB84lQmeCj7_x0v51pwuKduMH9LXkLtNMisVm3YsVRNdRpMLbutSE/s320/Pre+-+Christmas+017.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRW8EBGTYpzszeDcqPdUtWMB70hETiV7i72mXjLpFUo_sS4kFZYCwFVS6teQ8yGFCk1fb77g6kpXI6aqGPiJ0JUbKZdP-md2oRg4mX4YkgsxU2BM17jWf017bD5QmFVMpjFcvPnqtSQJs/s640/Pre+-+Christmas+018.JPG" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRW8EBGTYpzszeDcqPdUtWMB70hETiV7i72mXjLpFUo_sS4kFZYCwFVS6teQ8yGFCk1fb77g6kpXI6aqGPiJ0JUbKZdP-md2oRg4mX4YkgsxU2BM17jWf017bD5QmFVMpjFcvPnqtSQJs/s320/Pre+-+Christmas+018.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> This is a new park being constructed a block away from our house.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKsKSNmuiSyafGfsAhRBBEEDn1gzz9683pj7M7n7heNEzigm0uBg1NJdCTLYDCPK3PZVhBoS6AQHD6Y3QXMRsb6EgxFmXgoCD7_EgDnvfmTACxwcXTVZ9XfjGrjNieW_FwyINjpdoefLQ/s640/Pre+-+Christmas+019.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKsKSNmuiSyafGfsAhRBBEEDn1gzz9683pj7M7n7heNEzigm0uBg1NJdCTLYDCPK3PZVhBoS6AQHD6Y3QXMRsb6EgxFmXgoCD7_EgDnvfmTACxwcXTVZ9XfjGrjNieW_FwyINjpdoefLQ/s320/Pre+-+Christmas+019.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfcGb9gkJ2os0IEWeOQHtqf6_1DlVmXBhhbHdAcRXX6u8TVNxCpQkyfs0fgj9-qIxV7q6GgC8YPGYQhphKh4apjI7jgqe_f-NlQwbBJcmYP0TcsE9aEZ4_u43SCL2LsAep_ZfDVXPxpSI/s640/Pre+-+Christmas+020.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfcGb9gkJ2os0IEWeOQHtqf6_1DlVmXBhhbHdAcRXX6u8TVNxCpQkyfs0fgj9-qIxV7q6GgC8YPGYQhphKh4apjI7jgqe_f-NlQwbBJcmYP0TcsE9aEZ4_u43SCL2LsAep_ZfDVXPxpSI/s320/Pre+-+Christmas+020.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Peru Callinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16122068689235841414noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5363760672186453746.post-76375178008428586552020-12-21T10:33:00.008-08:002021-02-24T09:38:59.411-08:00Jetski boat smash<p> We were sailing along yesterday minding our own business when a Jetski driven by a young inexperienced operator suddenly appeared right on our bow. I thought he was going to veer away but he kept coming and smashed right into our bow. He had lost control of the wetbike.</p><p>We picked him up quickly as fortunately the 'man overboard' drills I learned years ago were still there in my memory banks and fortunately we had a doctor on board who checked him for injuries and prounounced him uninjured, which seems quite a miracle as the impact was fairly hard. We took the Jetski under tow and went back to where it had been rented. There was splintered wood on our bow from the impact which will take me a few days to fix.</p><p>I know they are fast and fun but I don't think Jetskis belong on a small 3 mile long lake. Unfortunately every year there are more of them. We regularly hear of various accidents with them but this is the first time we have been directly involved.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo6Ut-HQg27nGjh3yWXxSvAZEymmWVhYFPF1QzDA_2L-FLerlRXG61ffhhQBpmwhGT_YG8ZMDWRDiN7HzR4GDjm8JcqqUaNMpiB45H_8lUhKOO4ul7F5zFLo9wPTyeM05P7sCCW3a8GdA/s640/Pre+-+Christmas+001.JPG" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo6Ut-HQg27nGjh3yWXxSvAZEymmWVhYFPF1QzDA_2L-FLerlRXG61ffhhQBpmwhGT_YG8ZMDWRDiN7HzR4GDjm8JcqqUaNMpiB45H_8lUhKOO4ul7F5zFLo9wPTyeM05P7sCCW3a8GdA/s320/Pre+-+Christmas+001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAkX_Off-v2rkTVy5cun5op9OKf3xzU08oclJODP7l7ll0hOor_1Sod4W1XoQvXWrkzoLZuj4LUA9npjQOtwiXRSpMU_Ofu2_M8KcuVafQF4axwwxQ6hOVZPKXeh9XYOaz-AE4niHr3oc/s640/Pre+-+Christmas+003.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAkX_Off-v2rkTVy5cun5op9OKf3xzU08oclJODP7l7ll0hOor_1Sod4W1XoQvXWrkzoLZuj4LUA9npjQOtwiXRSpMU_Ofu2_M8KcuVafQF4axwwxQ6hOVZPKXeh9XYOaz-AE4niHr3oc/s320/Pre+-+Christmas+003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Peru Callinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16122068689235841414noreply@blogger.com1
